Ramblings of a Disorientated Mind

Well in case you hadn’t noticed, my Grandma died on the 19th [last Wednesday], so I’ve been a bit busy to type anything. Its been all ‘help me do this, and help me clean the house and help me make food for the wake’ from my mum. Were going to have the wake at G’ma’s, as its bigger than my house or my uncles house.
I have to admit, I’m a bit scared; I don’t play well with others, and there are sure to be lots of random rellies I don’t know very well. Meh.

Umm, so what’s been happening?

Well I got in some pretty serious war of words with some folks on Spacefem, and I’m starting to settle in quite nicely. Its nice there, especially if you believe in equality of the genders. Go check it out y’all.

I’ve had ‘Mandrake’, a Linux distro, installed on my machine as I really wasn’t getting on with the LFS Andy gave me. Mandrake’s pretty ok, actually. Andy said he didn’t like it. But then, I’m just a user and he’s on level of Sys Admin. I’ve had to install Mozilla Firebird over the regular Mozilla, as now it feels almost as constricting as IE. It’s odd, I had to go do something on a friend’s comp the other day. They have 56K dial-up modem, and office win2K, and I felt like someone was strangling me all the while I was using it. Weird I though, and I was trying to explain the feeling to Andy, and he said yeah, I know what you mean. But it feels like your being put into a little tiny box, or being strangled, just constricted in every way shape and form. I hate it. I’m never going on another windows box again. The 56k Dial-up was only slightly less worse, as now I’m use to having broad band, but then I don’t think they use their comp much, so they don’t need it. But it still felt like taking a step backwards.

I’ve been baking stuff pretty much constantly all week. And I’ve discovered an amazing thing. Baking is really soothing! And its real good fun to boot. I bet the family will be pleased with that statement; ‘Mmm, baked goodies’ Actually, this is pretty cool; I found this stuff called egg-G, which is an egg substitute fro cooking and baking, so now with using this egg-G stuff, non-dairy margarine and rice milk, I can eat what I bake Sweet hu?

I finally got my untitled novelette finished!!!! W00t for me Its not like, send to the publishers, ready, but i finished putting the bones for the last scene down this morning [02:35 to be exact]. I was so chuffed I posted the fact on Spacefem, but I dread to see how that was responded to Well, I just counted up, and it has taken me 10 months and 6 days to get to were I am atm. Lol, now though I need a title for it, which sucks, as I’m useless at naming things. Half the stuff on my website has no title, except for ‘thing n’. Yah, well.

Humm, I can’t think of anything else to type atm, so I shall let you get on with your lives I expect you will hear all about the funeral and wake, and some of the stuff going on at Spacefem.

Dark and I are now the proud owners of a bed/ matress [in 3-6 weeks] and a set of 4 chairs and a table [in ~4 weeks].

Yay furniture! Now all we need is a place to put them…

typing this on the Boy’s ‘net connection as a qiuck note, that he and I have got back together and all is okish. Kitty had a good party I think though it was mared by some stuff. Kitty’s pipe dream is starting to come good [publishing poetry stuff]. The RPG Fung Shui is very cool and I’m glad kitty is back and the Boy and I are back together and the piza is done so I will blather more later. ciao all

Argh! I still can’t seem to blog via my browser, so I’ve given up and I
activated the blogging via e-mail thingy. Lets hope it works

Right, I would firstly like to apologies to all who posted comments in
my ‘diet diary’. I hadn’t switched the ‘tell me I have comments’ thing
on so I was blissfully ignorant of your comments. I have since deleted
that diary as there is no point to it. I’m much better at keeping this
diet than I thought I would be.

Now, on to more exciting stuff. Yesterday Dad and I went up to Matalan
and I got my crockery. Its soo cool I only got four of each [dinner
plate, side plate and bowls] and no mugs as I already have plenty. I was
impressed, it only came to £20, and I was expecting it to be much more.

In the afternoon we went to visit Nan, and Dad and I wandered round
Swanage. We went into the gem shop and I got Dad to buy me a wooden box.
Its about 4 ½ inches across and is made of dark wood with a stunning
dark blue slice of agate in the lid. We also went into a shop called
‘rainbows end’ which is, for want of a better term, a new age clothes
shop. I wanted to buy the curtains they had on the fitting rooms. We
also went into ‘Curiosity’ which is exactly what the whole shop is
filled with. Could have spent a fortune in there. Yesterday was nice

I’m sure I was meant to be doing something to day, but no one has
e-mailed/ called/ texted/ IMed to tell me I was, so ah well.

Managed to get my site up again yesterday, with the exception of the
Written Works section, so I will do that today. It all looks very nice

I was hopping to go for a walk or something to day, but its very murky,
so I don’t think so. Staying in with Frodo and Samwise and a cup of
coffee sounds more like fun

I wish I could get a digital camera so I can post pics of the stuff I
bought to day. Anyone know of a good, cheap and easy one, and where I
can get it from?

I’m just rambling now so I will bid you all adue, and for those that
want it, Happy Easter

Wow, I seem to have had a busy weekend!

Easter Sunday my family went walking with the family of one of my
mother’s school mates [the Sullivans], as Kelly, who lives in London,
came down for the weekend. We walked the ‘Stour Valley Way’ which was
nice, took about 3 hours, and then we went back to their place and the
boys and I watched the first DVD of .HACK//. I’m intending on epicifying
the walk we did, and maybe I’ll post it, either here,
my site,
Spacefem or on
The
Scrolls. Woke up this morning, and my arse muscles of all things
ache like buggery. Grr.

Today the family [minus Sarah as she is poorly] went to a classic and
muscle car and bike show at, not Fort Brockhurst, but the Explosion
Museum [Gossport, near Portsmouth]. It was nice: the museum was
interesting and the cars were cool as ever [anyone got a spare couple
o'Grand so I can buy me a Corvette Stingray?], but it was smaller than
the Fort. We heard that the reason for the move was that the Fort is
having restoration work being done on its bridge over the mote and there
were complications and the contractors didn’t start for ages, so they
couldn’t use it.

Just got back and I’m really quite tired, so I don’t think I will go out
tonight. Whilst it would be nice, I think I would just end up falling
asleep in a pub… Tomorrow hopefully Andy will come over, as I broke
Gaim. I tried to install the new version, but every time I try to run it
from the console it gives this wyrd fatal error that its out of memory!
I checked my disk space, and some how I’ve ended up with 16GB of my 20GB
hard drive being given over to /boot! This leaves me with the reminder
for /home and /, so we think that might be causing the problems. For
those of you who are clueless, / would be like Program Files on windows,
/home would me My Documents and /boot would be the Startup sequence. So
I will be backing stuff up and hopefully Andy can fix it

Might also call Kitty and see of she wants to do something. I love the
holidays as my social life just keeps getting better

Well, I should be getting back to writing up the walk, so I bid you adue

I should, like, be in bed asleep or something, yet I’m not all that
tired. Andy came over on tues, and sorted Gaim out. No clue what he did,
but it works so I don’t care. Forgot to get him to sort out the fricken
Lisa Dæmon, so I can’t stream music from the server still. I need a
bigger hard drive.

Tues I also went to the bikers night on the Quay. Poole Tourism is
taking this whole longest summer thing to the extreme. Summer apparently
starts on the 1st of April and ends on the 30th of September… But we
likes the pretty bikes, and I saw Jimi, school mate who I see
occasionally. He has a cool new blue Harley, but I couldn’t tell you the
make. It was street fighter-esq as opposed to a cruiser though. I need
to get mum’s bike out and have a play on that, see if I can get the hang
of it all.

Tues, I also found out that Kitty had left for Uni. With out telling me.
I cried when Andy told me, and I’m now kicking myself that I didn’t do
more with her. I feel… Heart-broken almost, I miss her so fucking much
already. I need to learn how to drive or something so I can go see
her… If you don’t understand why I’m making such a big deal, for those
of you who have read/ watched LotR, she is the Frodo to my Samwise. If
she asked me to go to the ends of the earth with her on an equaly dire
mission, I think I would. [Yes, I know thats hypocritical of me, as I
didn't want to go back with her, but that was cuz it's hardly dire,
though now I have my doubts...:(]

Wed we played more Fung Shui, and I didn’t do that much, as during the
car chase, I was in the wrong place, and on the elevator I passed out
from the gas, but I did blow about 10 people up Fung Shui is cool
Wednesday, I can’t rember what else happened other than we watched
Cypher. Its very cool. This guy starts out being an agent for one
company, then a double agent, then a triple agent, quadruple agent, and
it has a frudy twist at the end.

Slept over Andy’s Wed night, then we went to James’, and they got no
work done until about 1700h, they had worked for literally 10 minuets
and Luke left, saying he was tired and needed a walk. He never
returned… Gah! He’s such a slacker sometimes! I don’t think I could
share a house with him, not even if you payed me. He would end up under
the patio in bits, if you catch my drift…

Eh, I’m sure some more exiting stuff has happened to me, but I’m really
sleepy not so will blog tomorrow.
