 You are a Generous Dreamer

About you: You are a Dreamer

# Your combination of abstract thinking, appreciation of beauty, and cautiousness makes you a DREAMER.
# You often imagine how things could be better, and you have very specific visions of this different future.
# Beauty and style are important to you, and you have a discerning eye when it comes to how things look.
# Although you often think more broadly, you prefer comfort to adventure, choosing to stay within the boundaries of your current situation.
# Your preferences for artistic works are very refined, although you vastly prefer some types and styles to others.
# Though your dreams are quite vivid, you are cautious in following up on them.
# You are aware of both your positive and negative qualities, so that your ego doesn’t get in your way.
# A sense of vulnerability sometimes holds you back, stifling your creative tendencies.

How you relate to others: You are Generous

# Your awareness of those around you, along with your nuanced perceptions of the world at large, makes you the GENEROUS person that you are.
# You value time to yourself and understand how rich your private world can be – you know that you don’t have to go wild to have a good time.
# You are excited and energized by ideas and often enjoy things more through observation than through experience.
# This tendency gives you an appreciation for different perspectives and opinions about the world.
# Being as aware of others as you are doesn’t mean you find it easy to trust them immediately – this is something that happens more slowly for you.
# Despite this, you are aware of the complexities of many situations and are reluctant to pass judgments on others.
# Although you have fewer friendships than some people, those that you have are meaningful and are important to you.
# You value spending time alone – it is while reflecting on the world around you that you often learn something new about yourself or begin to understand something that’s been bothering you.
# You’re not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you’re generally considerate of others’ feelings as well.
# You prefer to have time to plan for things, feeling better with a schedule than with keeping plans up in the air until the last minute.
# You do your own thing when it comes to clothing, guided more by practical concerns than by other people’s notions of style.
# You’re not afraid to let your emotions guide you, and you’re generally considerate of others’ feelings as well.
# You prefer to have time to plan for things, feeling better with a schedule than with keeping plans up in the air until the last minute.

Mildred isn’t dead!

I’m so happy :)

I don’t think I’ve blogged about Mildred much or at all, so let me explain: Mildred is a carnivorous plant, a Sarracenia to be exact, which is a type of pitcher plant. My mum bought her from Wyvale garden center at Ferndown about two weeks before Andy, Dan Monkey and I moved in together. She was £1 I think, and she looks something like this.

About 6 months ago she was getting very prolific, so I decided she needed a bigger pot. Only, after a while, she didn’t seem to like her new pot and her pitchers started dying, so on the advice of a friend I started top watering her, rather than bottom watering her, but her soil went all moldy and her pitchers started dying off in droves. I finally got around to looking at her just now, because I was afraid that she was completely dead. But she isn’t!

After taking all the dead pitches away and scarping away the moldy soil, I found that she’s sprouting again, but some of her roots aren’t are healthy as maybe they should be. So, in a couple of Saturday’s time I think I’m going to take her to my parent’s and find her a smaller pot and sort her out. Hopefully that will make her prolific and healthy again :)

An interview with myself

Questioner: So did you have a good holiday period?

Answerer: Yes and no. Yes, because this was the first year Andy and I got to actually spend Christmas day together, but no because I wasn’t at home and I got ill over new years.

Q: Oh dear! Tells us about that.

A: Well, on New Years Eve someone left a tray with some fat on it in the oven and when someone else went to cook something the fat started smoking and it smoked out the whole house. Since my asthma has been playing up I was coughing a lot,
which gave me a headache, so I took some paracetamol. Only then I forgot I’d had it and had some wine which made me feel very sick and I think I threw up in the night. It’s either that or I’ve gotten a D&V bug from my Dad. I had to miss out some of my family’s traditional New Year’s Day walk because of it, and I still feel dodgy.

Q: A walk eh?

A: Yes. My family, and some friends of ours, the Sullivan’, have been going for New Year’s Day walks together for as long as I can remember. This year we went to Maiden Castle, just outside of Dorchester. I only managed to make it around the castle before I started feeling groty, so I sat in the car while the other’s finished the walk. Only a storm decided to break over my head and they came back soaked. I got really cold too, but I’m glad I wasn’t walking.

Q: So did you get anything nice for Christmas?

A: A lot of money [Laughs] Seriously, I got £260 in all, as well as some basic toiletries from ‘Santa’. I also got a fridge magnet from Kat; some ethical toiletries from Kelly S; a dressing gown, new slippers, new umbrella and chocolates from my parents; some books from random people; a USB snowman that changes colour from my A. Elaine and U. Brian; A tiny sugar bowl and milk jug from Kat’s A. Doris and U. Bill; and some other stuff that I’m sure I’m forgetting.

Q: so a nice stash?

A: Yeah, wasn’t too bad ;)

Q: We hear that Andy had a lot of time off this Christmas. How was that?

A: Yeah, his boss decided that the whole company had worked so hard on the run-up to Christmas so they should get some extra holiday. Andy got all of Wednesday and Friday off, which meant that from the 23rd he got 9 days off. It wasn’t too bad, quite nice to begin with, but he got a little narky towards the end of his holidays. Except for New Year’s Day though, which he was quite loving on, because he didn’t see me most of the day.

Q: So he’s bad at work now?

A: Yes.

Q: how about you, when do you go back?

A: I’ve got until the 4th.

Q: Talking of new year, did you make any resolutions?

A: Sort of. I’m resolute that I’m going to: Learn to ride a motorbike; loose some more weight; get more serious with my writing; not skip chores as much as I use to; sort my job life out; read more, both fiction and non-fiction.

Q: Think you’re going to keep any of them?

A: I’ll try, of course. The only one’s that I don’t see me sticking to, or taking a long time to complete are: learning to ride a ‘bike; not skipping chores; reading more fiction and loosing weight.

Q: So to close, how to you generally feel about everything?

A: Okay I think. This year was definitely a tough one, in emotional terms, and I’m glad it’s over. And I think that this festive period was a milestone for me. [Nods thoughtfully] I’ve enjoyed it.
