And now for some real news

on January 13, 2007

[as opposed to me obsessively posting test results]

Today Andy and I got our hair cut. This is the first time since… Well, a year I think *blushes* His hair is now just around the nape of the neck and his beard is almost completely gone – down to a grade two [:(], and mine is layered to about the same length. Like the hairdresser said, happiness is his ‘n’ her haircuts :)

Today also we cleared a bunch of stuff out of the crap hole – including a bed and mattress; Dan’s old desk; and 4 monitors – and got my parent’s to take them to the dump for us. Our house is now looking a lot neater and tidier :)

I also think I’m getting the hang of this cooking lark. I did two stews – Thurs and Fri – because Andy said he was going to do overtime, and they both worked out pretty well. For my next trick I’m going to Lancaster [or maybe just Laura's] Hotpot. I’ll let y’all know how that goes :)

Hum, I’ve been using the ‘:)’ emotion altogether too much recently… Ah well :)

And now for a bit of a bomb shell. I’m thinking of going back to school. Posting the whole thing out here would just make this entry a lot longer, so this is what I posted at Spacefem.com. Let me know what you think okay?

What else? Oh yeah, Monkey bought a paper home on Thursday so I went through the jobs and have applied to:

  • Retail Assistant position at Dingles
  • Trainee Radio Commercial Writer
  • Retail Assistant and Visitor Reception Assistant with the National Trust on Brownsea Island

There where three more that I picked out which where duds and I have two left to call up for on Monday.

I think, for the moment, that’s it. Good hunting :)

    just read your spacefem entry…
just go to college and study somthing, it will be much cheaper.
my college course since im over 18 was £200.
and its a foundation course, which is higher then an A.S level course.

since your over 18 youd have to pay but a course lower then a ba honours shouldnt be as much as you said.

of course if you went to uni it would be expensive, but as you say youd get a student loan.

basically go for the highest course you can for the cheapest.

but an A.S level course shouldnt be £3000 like you said.

I think you misread. I said that the site said that the ALevels were free, but I’ve since found out that it’s about £600 incuding everything. The uni course is £3070.

Openning more doors is always a plus. So as long as you can support yourself during the course, then go for it. Its good to see that you are looking at realistic solutions to your problems, when most people get into the ‘new years resolution ‘ swing of things, they tend to get carried away and end up giving up cos they realised that what they are trying to achieve is completely impractical.

So I hope this goes well for you.
