Okay, now I’ve got that out of my system I’ll explain 
Yonks ago [December in fact] Darkliquid and I signed up to this scheme that helps first time buyers get a foot on the property ladder. Basicaly it works by you buying a share in the property and the remainder is payed by the scheme, ie the goverment, and then you buy the rest of the property from the scheme when you can afford to and pay rent in the interim period.
About 4 weeks back, on Valentine’s Day, Dark and I went to view some properties being offered by this scheme. There were two two bed flats and two one bed flats, all of them really nice. However, there were loads of other couples that went to see them and we didn’t really entertain high hopes of getting one.
BUT!!!! Today, I got a call from Dark saying we’d gotten one!!!! And it was our first choice as well. The scheme have a ‘priority’ list, given to them by the local council, to say who should be considered for a property first, and apparently we were 5th on the list, very surprising to us, but kinda cool
So now all we have to do is go to another interview to discus payment etc, sort out a mortgage and it’s ours!!!!
Course, this kinda puts a kibosh on my plans to go traveling Europe this summer since we’re going to sink all our savings into the deposit, but I don’t care!!! My future housing worries are no more. And we can start looking for a dog too!!!

Oh, and when you get round to getting a dog, what breed are you gonna get?
Well, even better news: we can have a two bed flat
However slightly bad news: we can’t have a dog because of the ToC of the block of flats.
It all sounds kinda complicated with solicitors and morgage lends and stuff, but Andy understands some of it and we have supportive parents so it’ll all be fine with that in mind
