I have been ridiculously busy over the two weeks I get for easter! So what exactly have I been doing? Here’s a quick run-down…
Monday
Monday was the day I had the endoscopy done. Basically it’s to see if I’m a celiac sufferer or if I’m just intolerant to gluten. For most of the day I just sat around doing nothing because they had a back-up of endoscopy’s to perform, then for about half an hour I went in and under sedation and then home to bed [at around 2000h]
Tuesday
I didn’t actually wake up until 1200h, managed to stay awake for an hour before going back to bed and sleep and finally waking again at 1500h. The rest of the day I think I just pottered and then went to bed again at 2000h
Wednesday
I attempted to edit some more of my Nano novel except that the internal critic it back with a vengeance and I spent most of the day doing chores to get out of editing my tripe. Then in the late afternoon I got kidnapped by kat to go shopping, then to my parent’s to get some of her stuff and then back to hers for dinner and I got dropped back home by her house mate some when around 2100h.
Thursday
Thurs, I went around to the Sullivan’s house to watch anime, Then in the evening Kat came around for her birthday party gathering thing. We [being Kat, Greg, Myera, monkey, Andy and myself] ate Chinese, drank wine and talked and laughed and much fun was had by all. Kat left at 2200h ish and I think the rest of us stayed up until… Later…
Friday
This is when the fun starts. Friday being a bank holiday, Kat dragged me off to see her Aunty Doris and Uncle Bill who live out Lymington way. On the way we half got lost, though the area looks far nicer in the sun than in the bleakness that was December. We stayed at theirs for a couple of hours eating toasted hot cross buns and listening to Uncle Bill tell us about war stories. Before we had to go home. We picked up Andy on the way to Kat’s to meet with two of her mates from Uni. After they arrived settled and we all had lunch, we decided to go to the beach. On the way we decided we also wanted a barbecue for dinner, so after spending some time at the beach and eating ice creams, we went to TESCO, got some grub and drink, dropped by mine and picked up some instant barbecues and implements and the rest of my Lambrini and spend the evening eating drinking and generally being quite merry, finally getting back at 2300ish.
Saturday
In the morning I went out with my parents to a craft fair, and then to a farm shop in the new forest and another somewhere near Bere Regis, and got back around 1400h to find that Andy had been kidnapped to Ashly Road by Kat. I was feeling pretty tired so I ate and messed with the computer, the Internet and a new MMORPG I found called Dofus, before just curling up on the bed and trying to rest. At some point Andy came home and I think was a bit miffed at me because in my tiredness I’d ordered him home, because I was missing him, and he wasn’t keen on just snuggling like I wanted. Anyway, don’t really remember what else happened this day. I think we might have gotten an early night and that was it.
Sunday
Today Andy and I got picked up around 1200 for Sunday lunch with my family. It was quite cool, because Owen and Sarah brought a bottle of something called ‘Pink’ which is like Lambrini – Giggle Juice – I think I had most of the bottle and as such was feeling a little sleepy right after lunch. But even so, in the afternoon, Andy and I went for a walk around Hatch Pond and when we got back I sorted some of my clothes that I’d left in my old room, but soon Andy was complaining he was bored, so I finished up and we got dropped back home. I don’t think we did anything else that day.
Monday
Yay for bank holidays! Today we met up with the Sullivans and went out for a walk at the Dorsetshire Gap. The annoying thing was, when we got to, and parked just outside Plush [the nearest hamlet] the day was all foggy and cold and I’d dressed for sunny weather, so didn’t really even have a jumper, so I took Dad’s huge waterproof and regretted it for most of the walk. It was a present walk, mostly up-hill, with a touch of down-dale on the way back. But it didn’t rain, and we had some fairly good views from the top of the gap, and I signed the ‘guest book’, oh and we found a horseshoe that I’m hoping to clean up and paint and put in our new house, and mum collected a load of moss for reasons I forget. But when we got back to the cars, the sun was bright and warm, so we got the picnic chairs out and had lunch and where the car had gotten warm, the bottle of red I’d brought to be used up was all warm and lovely. And we sat and chatted and ate and drank and shared food, and the sun shone and it was all really nice and it reminded me of a song, so I started singing and Kelly joined in a bit, and as we sang we raised our wine filled glasses to the our dads, Kelly to me and me to her, and Daniel and the wine bottle:
As I was out walking one morning in spring,
I met with some travelers on an old country lane.
One was an old man, the second a maid,
The third was a young boy who smiled as he said:
With the wind in the willows, and the birds in the sky,
There’s a bright sun to warm us where ever we lie.
We have bread and fishes, and a jug of red wine,
To share on our journey with all of mankind
By the time we got back to the Sullivan’s again there was just enough time for Kelly to get a bite to eat before she had to catch her train back to London, but again, we ate and we drank and we had pleasant conversation and I got home at around 2300 again.
The rest of the week I didn’t really do anything special, though on Thursday, I met up with Greg for lunch and I bought him a chocolate apple for his birthday and we sat wandered around Poole and talked until he had to go to work [:( for him]. But I swear I drank more over that long weekend than I had in the months preceding….
