So, I’m back to trying to write my morning pages. And once again, I’ll start where I am. I’m sat at my desktop computer, in my room. The blind to the left of me is down, as usual, because I am too lazy to open it. The blind to the right, however, is pulled up, something I did the moment I woke up this morning. Outside there are a few fluffy clouds, but mostly the sky is blue and the world is sunny. I cleaned my desk yesterday – not just the top, but the shelves as well. I found a lot of interesting stuff that I’d forgotten about, and some other stuff I should have gotten rid of a long time ago. It looks a lot better for my tidying. To the left of my desk it’s still a mess. We’re running out of room for things, and I’ve reverted to piles. On the big shelf there are piles of DVDs, games and books. On the floor there are piles of junk that needs to be sold. On the little bookcase, there is a massive pile of books that I haven’t yet read and on top of Andy’s computer is a pile of stuff from LUG Radio live. The only thing that isn’t piled is my violin in it’s case.
It’s quite late in the day – almost 11 o’clock in fact [1040]. You’re supposed to do these things as the first thing you do, but instead I looked at e-mail stuffs and cleaned the kitchen, toilet and bathroom sink. I also did all the washing up, including Dan’s stuff [blerg].
And once again, I’m not even half way through the page and I’ve run out of something to say. I suppose I could go on to say what I will do for the rest of the day. I think after I’ve finished this I’ll go downstairs and try and edit some more of the MOW novel I wrote last November. It’;s slow going – there is so much that needs to be re-written and I really can’t seem to do it on just the tiny post-it notes I have. After I’ve finished a page of that I will probably eat lunch and watch some TV, probably 24 since there is nothing else and then It’s time to practice my violin. So far I can play ‘Mary had a,little lamb’. It’s difficult doing the fingering because my hands are small and I have to bend them and they hurt after a while, but I’m hoping I’ll get use to it. The song it’s self isn’t too bad. I can remember most of the notes and keep it just about in time to how it should be. I’m still having issues with how much rosin to put on the bow and the fact that it doesn’t go on evenly, but I’ll work it out. I can’t wait to try something more complicated and more folksy.
Then I expect It’ll be time to head back to school and after I get back? I’m not sure what I’ll be doing. Probably watching Eureka with Andy while we eat and then to bed. Put into this kind of perspective my life seems very dull. It’s pretty much the same routine every day: go to school, get home, clean, eat snack while doing interweb stuff, edit novel, eat lunch and watch TV, play violin, go back to school. I’m kinda glad thought that I’m making time again for these morning pages even if it’s not being the first thing in my day. Though I suppose I could start taking the palmtop on the bus with me in the morning and trying to write the equivalent of an a4 sized morning page. I also need to get back into reading – that’s been falling behind a bit as well. I’ve just picked up Polity Agent again, as well as reading a little of Un Lun Dun last night. I need to take one of these books on the bus with me in the afternoon then maybe, that’ll help me get through them quicker.
Yay my page is done! And at 1057 – just in time for me to spend and hour editing the MOW Novel before lunch.
