So today was my last day lollipop-ing. I’m really sad to be leaving that job but it really didn’t pay enough. I swear though it got really over cast as I was leaving home, then as I was headed back home it was raining quite hard. They gave me a silver photo frame and a pretty card though, so that was nice. All I need now is a photo for it… So for the weekend I’m technically unemployed, then I officially start at millets on Monday. Something I’m not terribly looking forward to… Incidentally, the lady replacing me for the patrol is the lady who use to cross me when I was a wee bairn.
Anyway, to seems that The Pirate Comedy was quite a success. So much so, in fact, the station manager wants another. Good job I’ve already started working on a Halloween special
Even though Andy hated it generally, he did give [me at least] so helpful constructive criticism, which I hope will make the next one even better.
As for house/ move/ packing/ solicitors, haven’t heard anything from them in a while. I should really e-mail them… We’re still hoping for everything to be sorted by the end of September. I’ve started packing already and I’m barely a quarter of the way through and I have no more boxes, I’ve already enlisted Greg and my parents to get me some more but if anyone else can spare any please send them my way! FYI though, don’t get wilko’s cheap ‘gaffer’ tape because it’s shit.
I know everyone thinks it’s too early to be thinking about wedding stuff, but I’ve got a provisional booking for it which is good, and sat I’m going to a wedding fayre at the Pavilion, so hopefully I’ll get some ideas for stuff there as well. I’ve already scared Andy with my super efficient ‘wedding plan’, maybe I’ll post it online at some point and attract scared/ scathing comments from other people…
Other exciting news:
- Andy bought Songs From Redwall CD [which I'm listening to right now and it's pretty cool] and a Redwall cookbook [which is also cool – I can't wait to make Shrimp and Hotroot Soup and the puddings sound scrummy, but I was disappointed that Moles Deeper 'n Ever Turnip 'n Tater 'n Beetroot Pie doesn't actually have any beetroot in it... I'd also like to make Bellringer's Reward for my mum].
- I might be going to learn to drive a quad bike. Greg seemed to think it was a really bad idea for economy purposes, but I think it’s perfect for me – it’s a cross between a bike [that I want] and a car [so my parent's won't worry].
- [This is exciting to me, but probably not so much for anyone who's heard me play [which to date is Andy. Wall-Scroll-Sepephoth doesn't count] and because I haven’t practiced in a while] At Cropready, I bought a book that’ll help me learn the basics to play folk fiddle
- Monday 3rd Sept Mum and I took a trip to Beer. Doesn’t sound exciting, but it was fun and cool and stuff
My mum [indirectly] complained that I don’t keep them updated enough. Maybe I should give her my blog address… or is that just asking for trouble?
Anyway that’s it for now, ttfn.
