It’s friday night. Aren’t we glamorous 20-somethings supposed to be out partying the night away, getting pissed out of our skulls and having a generally jolly old time of it?

We are, aren’t we? Or did I miss that memo…

Yes, I’m bored out of my tiny little mind right now. I have nothing to do. Nothing. Monkey and Dan are hiding in their rooms, Andy is technically still at work, no one is online, I’ve watched all the digital movies I want to, I can’t watch anything on disk because my DVD drive isn’t talking to the PC and I’m boooored. Oh and my wisdom tooth is hurting. Scowl >:(

I just took a What movie rating will your blog get test. I got R [restricted] for 4 craps and a fuck. What a god damn fucking rip! For R rating I would have expected at least 10 fucks and a few damn’s and a whole host of others [shit, cunt, bloody, bollocks etc].

It’s nearly the end of summer…

…and I’m almost glad to be going back to school, because – and I hate to admit this – but I’m bored. Oh sure there are loads of things I guess I could be doing: reading, editing my novel, practicing fiddle, integrating the new website layout, sorting photos or music, getting stuff ready to sell. It’s just that none of them hold any attraction for me right now. Grr >:(

Creative direction

So in preparation for this year’s NaNoWriMo, Dark and I made a site on WikiDot. It’s not public as we don’t want people nicking our world before we’ve even really developed it. Also, I have two novels for previous NaNoWriMos to edit. I haven’t even touched The Genre-ation Game, and I’m only on page 22 of The MOW Files. As well as that, I want to start writing articles for Spacefem again, and I looked at my website today and decided it needs a complete overhaul.

Lots of projects in the making, so what’s the problem? My problem is I can’t see to figure out where to start, with any of them.

I start typing an article and it just sounds silly to me, so I don’t bother finishing or posting it. My website needs re-organizing, a new design and the blog needs updating, but it’s difficult to decide what to do about it all. I’m not sure how to start on The Genre-ation Game, since the end is so spiffy but the first half is a pile of dren – I don’t want to scrap it and start again. The Mow Files is somewhat easier, but I have to be in exactly the right frame of mind, which sucks because what with everything else [wedding, NVQ, making Supervisor, general chores] that’s hard to achieve.

I’ve never been very good at personal organization. It might look excellent [or even obsessive-compulsive] from outside, and I can organize other people splendidly, but myself? I suck at making the whirling mess of thoughts in my head appear even somewhat logical, prioritized and actionable.

If only I could find someway of making it all make sense and stopping it from spinning so much. Graahhhh >:(

Okay, well this sucks

I like long dates. I consdier them to be very useful in a world with no standard date layout. If I see wednesday, 30th August 2006 written down, I know that something was written on the 30th day of August in the year 2006 which was a wednesday.

However I can’t do this anymore beacuse of some silly bug in b2evo. If I want to edit anything about a post I can’t, beacuse the little ‘issue date’ box at the bottom of the post isn’t big enough to fit Wednesday, 30th August 2006 in it. So now I am forced to use short dates, that are infinatly more confusing and generally more annoying, all because the box can’t fit that many characters in it. I expect there is a way to hack it, but I shouldn’t have to, and that removal of choice is just as irritating and the bug it’s self. Grrr >:(

EDIT: And my smilies aren’t working…

1. What’s one of the nicest things a friend has ever done for you?
Saved my life. Ages ago, a group of us where walking home and we were all stood on the island in a very busy road. As a joke someone behind me pushed me. I lost my balance and stepped forward into the road, just as a car was coming. Ryan grabbed my shirt and pulled me back in time.

2. What’s one of the nicest things a stranger has ever done for you?
When I was leaving school once I wasn’t paying attention I slipped and hurt my ankle, and this guy came and helped me up and kept asking if I was okay.

3. What is a trait in another person that you instantly admire, and that draws you to them?
Having an easy laugh I think.

4. What is a trait in another person that instantly repels you, and prevents you from forming a close relationship with them?
I’m not sure. My friendships seem to be formed randomly…
